Norm Kraus started Grand Spaulding Dodge in 1963 within the Dodge line up. on the corner of Grand Ave and North Spaulding Ave in Chicago and unlike the majority of dealers, recognized what the youth market wanted (as did Iococca and Artis-Duntov) and set out to make his mark in offering high performance variants. Right off the bat, he was advertising full sized '64 Dodge 426 billing himself as the "Ramcharger King". By the next year , he entered the exotic "Altered Wheel Base" class of A/FX drag cars with this '65 Coronet. The following year, when the new '67 Darts arrived with the max available 273 V8, he put the B-body 383 into the little A-body and became the forerunner of his successful Dart GSS model. By the next year his GSS Darts would have the 375hp 440 Magnum under the hood. Mr. Norm never quit the high performance Dodge business until he died at age 87.
Here's his AWB Coronet racing against the Arnie Beswick GTO:

I don't know if you can read on the last rear shot the Xed out names of all the famous drivers this car had beaten but it's a Hall of Fame of his contempories.

A real brute for sure and one of the few instances where the scale replica may be sitting too low. A great model & excellent pics (...but no, I cannot read those names 🙄)
@chris Some names on the list: Ohio George Montgomery, Arnie Beswick, Palmer Lazurus and Ramchargers and includes the class they ran in. Â
@rich-sufficool Thanks, I actually know those names...a very impressive list!
I remember Grand-Spaulding Dodge and Mr. Norm here in Chicagoland. That is a quite remarkable list of people that were taken on at the track and also cars Mr. Norm sold ! I am not familiar with who did this AW one, but it would almost seem to have the grille already tooled for a 1965 standard Coronet, like one of the powerful Dodge Coronets a friend of mine had back in the day.
..
....always liked how you took the extra step to remove the rear glass to improve the accuracy of this replica.
