As a little kid, I was fascinated by the different hood ornaments and badges, and,as I grew up, I collected them from those early days when you could rummage through junk yards and pull them off the wrecks and offer the guy a buck for a bag full. Those days are long gone and now on eBay you pay retail for them. The first postwar generation of Kaisers and Frazer had these cool, oversized badging in enamels and cloisonne. The one on the right is the Scottish clan Frazer's coat of arms and the script "Je Suis Pret" means "I am ready".

I (we ) caught the tail-end of that time when "roaming freely & buying cheaply"  in junk yards was a common thing. It was a pretty neat experience. 😎 😎 Your emblems/badges are cool.
Reminds me of the time I was in a junk yard looking for parts for my 61 Olds Starfire....just about the time most yards would let you look but required their people to remove the parts. Anyway, I found a Starfire script on the deck lid so I went to the office and told them what I wanted. The owner summoned one of his gorillas to go out and remove the script. After about fifteen minutes the gorilla came into the office with the script broken in two pieces and the stems missing which made the part not usable for my restoration. On the way out to my car, I walked past the car and the gorilla had mutilated a perfectly good deck lid.
@bob-jackman The evolution of the old classic junkyard to the "Previously Owned Auto Parts Boutique" I suppose was inevitable. It probably began with liability and insurance mandates and with the advent of computerized inventories as well as national databases when it was realized just what even trim parts could be worth in the restoration markets. Now you take a number, sit in the waiting room and when your part is found and brought to the front desk, expect to pay 60% to 80% of NOS prices... if you're lucky. When you're looking to restore a '69 Camaro or Charger, you'll need to take out a bank loan!
@jack-dodds I had no idea you were in the parts business.
I used to be but I found it to be too competitive.... such a jungle.

I agree. I ultimately found it unrewarding and the pay scale was just bananas.
