Ah yes, one of my favorite "$27.00 models." Let me explain. Years ago, this color scheme was...

...available through Vicky Gifts. Anyone remember them? Quickly, I ordered one ($70.00). While I waited for that to arrive I bought a "few" more of the other color schemes.

It took months for the VG's version to arrive; I thought, "Man, these must be hot!" Mine finally came. A year later, however, these same color scheme cars appeared on eBay...... $27.00 each. I was ****ed! I did NOT buy more out of spite. S-T-U-P-I-D-!!

I've since calmed down (LOL). Still one of my favorites. Early issues had single exhaust, later versions had duals, fenders skirts & conny kits.

And it's a 4 DR HT which is mighty rare and the doors operate

I'm sure that will happen. Why not? There's money to be made!

Correct. Plenty of 4-dr models (in which AL doors open) but VERY few 4-dr hardtops. We need more....

...to me, it's a HUGELY missed opportunity. Four door hardtops were so popular in the '50's & '60's and so many existing 1/18 replicas could be modified into 4-dr HT.

Why not go for it? Yes, retooling would be costly but the return (IMO) would justify everything.

Absolutely we need more 4 door models.

I would prefer no opening features so everything fits and looks accurate to scale, but the 1956 BelAir is good for me, too. Maybe the next manufacturer will produce the wildly popular tri-tone version from the 1959 film, Mon Oncle.
