I love that car, but AHEM... do you happen to have any models in colors other than green??? ;^)
GMP did a pretty good job on these. Minor issues for me were
They ride too high, but back in those days many owners raised the front torsion bars and added air shocks and SS springs to get bigger tires under them. So not odd looking at all. I think the front windshield slops a touch too steeply, but otherwise, very nice models. I have this one, the blue road runner convertible and the all black GTX.
Yes, a total of 377 diecast 1:18, but GREEN is my favorite color. People kidded me about it so much
I started using capitol letters when I posted the word, kind of got to be my tag so to speak. And to do a post every day showing some of my cars GREEN just seemed to work.
And as seen my collection is of American muscle type cars 1950 to 1971 basically.
Very nice collection!
I used to have a 1:1 Roadrunner and, to me, the windshield looks spot on!...
... I think the jury may still be out on the ride height, though. I did happen to notice that mine looked a little high the last time I had it out of the box.
Ride height and tire size seem to be the sources of two of my biggest complaints about diecast models, with a lot of the old Ertl- American Muscle cars being among the absolute worst.
For the most part, though, I think that most companies do better with it today than they used to. At least, the inaccuracies seem to be less noticeable.
Alan, I think you may be right. Especially in a convertible.
After a little more study, it's not the angle of the windshield or posts, but the roof curves a bit too much down to the windshield pillars on the hard tops.
But with the more in depth look, the issues are much less bothersome to me. And you are correct. Never models seem to show more correct ride heights. On my GMP '70 Mopars, they are lowered to stock height. I am very pleased.
I have this one. Love it.
