I came across this old picture I took of my 1/18 Ertl Plymouth GTX convertible. I still have this replica although it is packed in my storage unit right now. It was done nicely by Ertl and they also did hardtop editions of this diecast. Back then, you could find such models at places like Wal-Mart, Target, Toys-R-Us, etc. The price might be an extravagant $24.95
Mike I have the hardtop. These models are tremendous amount of bang for the buck.
Great photo of a great model of the great Plymouth GTX! It was a fine 1:1 car in '69, and it's fine today! Always loved how the car looked AND sounded. The 440 had a mesmerizing exhaust note.
@marty-johnson My fixed mental image regarding the exhaust sound of this era of Dodge/Plymouth is when I was a teenager back in the late 60s. Our group used to hang out at a particular local drive-in restaurant every weekend night and the local cops used to patrol through slowly regularly in their Coronet 440s; the rumble was awesome! Must have impressed me greatly as that was the same department I worked at for 27 years.
