Here is a beautiful post-war 1947 Cadillac top-up convertible from Anson. Measuring wheelbase on this one seems to indicate it runs a bit small, but I'll perhaps consider another one when a new 1/18 1947 Cadillac diecast comes out in about 2036 !
For 1947, Cadillac still retained basically it's pre-War look, but waiting in the wings was the restyled 1949 and a V-8 engine. In the meantime, the '47 one was gorgeous and it looks especially good in gleaming black. I used to also have this one in a greenish shade but I had to reduce my collection a bit.
This is an OK looking model, but the problem is that it's under-scaled. Yes, yes.... I know for some this "problem" is not a problem. "1/20" is close enough, I get it.
I was SO disappointed when Precision Miniatures folded BEFORE they could tool up & produce their much anticipated 1/18 1947 Cadillac ambulance & hearse. I have NO DOUBT that a sedan or coupe would've followed.... but sadly, it wasn't meant to be.
- Nice pics Mike, black does look nice.
Thanks ! Black does look nice on this one. And that top-down red one is a real beauty, too !
