Nice pictures Mike. I can't say that I've ever seen this color in this model...looks good.
Great pics Mike of a very nice Yat Ming model. Over the years they sure did give us a bunch of great models at incredible prices ! 👍
Thanks, Bob. You didn't see many '50 Studebaker Champions from Yat Ming and also not many in this bright red color. They did a nice job with this one at the typically low YM price point
And thanks, Steve. Yes, YM gave us a whole bunch of nice diecast cars at a great lower price. I remember seeing many years ago a list on the old DCP that Joe Kelley had gotten of a number of great 1/18 diecast models that YM had in the planning stages at that time.
Wow Mike,
I had forgotten about Joe and how instrumental he was and helping me get into this hobby.. Thank you for the memories.
@100ford2003 Joe Kelly did a wonderful job of reviewing models IMO. His basement man cave was spectacular.

One of the best diecast-ambassadors for sure! For years I watched his terrific YouTube reviews, but didn't know until about 2022, that Joe is the front man for one of the premiere Eagles tribute bands touring today. Pretty cool! 😎 😎 😎
Well that's something worth googling.... 👍

Yep....it sure was / is !
This bullet/propeller nose design seems to me to be the 1950s "design shock" equivalent that the '61 Plymouth presented in the following decade. I found it very weird looking as a kid but really appreciate its uniqueness now.
Was Joe the guy that had a retractable pool table in his man cave? He also had all those IKEA Billy cabinets.

Yes, yes he was. In fact, I believe THAT'S what started his path to diecast reviews, etc... Joe was featured on a local TV show called, "Look what I did!" He explained how he engineered & fabricated his retractable, ceiling mounted, slot car table.
I love the second, lake-side shot. It really transports you to another time.
