(Pics) 1952 Hudson Hornet

Here is Highway 61's fine Hudson Hornet for '52 in Texas tan over Boston ivory.

Great photos of a beautiful car. I have several of them but don't know why Hwy 61 didn't correctly replicate the "step-down" floor, as this was a very innovative design that played a large part of the Hornet's success in stock car racing. The model's floors are simply flat and level with the door sills, which puts the floor incorrectly above the frame.
Hwy 61 got a lot of things right with these models, but the flooring is not one of them.

Outstanding pictures Mike. I have always liked the Hudson models from Highway 61 and thought they were great values.

Very nice pictures! I'm not a Hudson fan, per se, but my dad had one of these models...

... and I really liked it! If I'm not mistaken, I believe his was gray.

LOL ! The second snap has California State Route 74 (Palms to Pines Highway) as a very dangerous backdrop ! The real road isn't quite this hair-raising (as seen right next to the Hudson), as there are guardrails on the turns, so photo-shop is partially responsible for the scary view there.

However, in movie history, near this spot the highway, Jimmy Durante "flew" off the road in his car in the 1960's comedy "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

IMHO, HW61's Hudson is almost a museum quality model @ a blue collar price! Fantastic!
