This is an early Yat Ming diecast model of the great-looking 1957 Chevrolet Nomad 2-door station wagon. All the Tri-Five Nomads have been really nicely done in 1/18 by manufacturers and certainly make a fine addition to anyone's collection.

Great series of pictures of a very photographic Nomad. I like the tail lights and the head lights on the wall in the first shot. The last shot looks like the smoke from a massive burn out is drifting away.

Thanks ! Nomads were really cool vehicles in all the years they were made.

I agree they were beautiful....same goes for the '55 to '57 Pontiac Safaris.

@jack-dodds You're right. Nomads have always garnered attention, while the Pontiacs got lost in the sauce.  As I've noted, ACME has a '55 Nomad due out soon, '56s & '57s will follow.    Who knows?   One day we just might see some Pontiac Safaris.....  👍 👍

My ancient Tootsie Toy Safari that I beat to hell as a kid. It's about 1/28 with a full interior.

As you likely know, Goldvarg Models are planning to produce a '56 Safari in 1/43 this year.  IMO it will be an immediate sell out success, which I hope will prompt Sergio to do the '55 and '57.....and even the Tri-five Nomads.  Brooklin have done the '57 Safari of course but I would certainly buy a Goldvarg resin version.

I have the MOC 55, the Conquest and Brooklin 57 and am anxiously awaiting the Goldvarg 56.The only 56 model that I know of is owned by Rick Thompson and it was custom built for him by John Roberts.

Yes Bob.....I believe you are mentioning the beautiful 2drht. John Roberts did in yellow and white for Rick.  He showed me pictures of it and it is a beauty....another Roberts masterpiece!

@jack-dodds I wish I had been kinder to it. I loved it all through the 50s and then went through that phase where you want to blow everything up. In reality that Tootsie Toy was as close as you could get to being indestructible.

All things considered Rich, I think it's in remarkable condition. I'd settle for even just a 1/4 of all the toys (mostly cars ) I destroyed or "blew up"  as a kid, only 6 survived. 🙄 😔

Well...that's 6 more that survived than mine.
