LOL, well, few agree with you, as this has been a big success. There will always be those who cry and moan about anything.
No, EVERYBODY agrees it's a botched model. No one looks at this Dodge and thinks it's "well done"...
That is to say, it has some fantastic features, such as slick paint, nice chrome trim, and decent fit & finish but the fenders, fins, windshield and C-pillars suffer from poor engineering.
..We've all bought one (or two, or three-in my case) because it's "the only game in town." Who else makes a 1/18 1959 Dodge?
But make no mistake Mike....the tooling is screwed up (it's MORE than obvious). We like the model but it's a shame Sun Star *****-ed up.
Compare SS's 1959 Dodge to Ertl's 1957 Chrysler and you'll see in an INSTANT just how bad the proportions are.
Now, if Ertl can get it right...Why can't Sun Star? Why?
That's my real point here Mike... Why is Sun Star a "hit & miss" company.
I know nothing ever bothers you. You like every model ever made, never criticizing any of them. I, however, am not so easily pleased; I sweat the details and will cry & moan always when "preventable" mistakes make it to production.
I know you must get the last word so.........go ahead, your serve.

SS '59 Dodge, Guilty as charged. Dead on Chris
LOL, I don't agree, so (once again) you are wrong when you say "everyone agrees".
I only get models I like and I don't cry about every imperfection, real or imagined. This one, in person, is not anywhere near as terrible as you claim. So I would tell people to see it for themselves and don't rely only on my horrible snapshots that make this Dodge look so bad to you.
And if you bought one and you think it is so miserable, then that is especially foolish. What a silly waste your time and money .... and then you complain incessently about it.
I'm always wrong Mike and you're always right. You're the greatest collector ever!
Mike, we all (well, most everyone) loves your photos and we love
SunStar's choice of iconic American cars of the 50's and 60's. BUT we don't love the way SunStar sometimes really drops the ball in 1)build quality!!, 2) product accuracy and 3)choice of colors and color combinations. But we buy them anyway - they're the only game in town at this point - and we fix them and vent our complaints online hoping they'll be heard and/or another poster will have a solution. Seems as American as hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet (and BTW, why haven't we seen a '59 or '60 Impala from these guys?)
That's it exactly Jason; that's all I've ever said. Why except "preventable" mistakes?
