This is a very nice diecast model done years ago by Ertl. The 1961 Pontiac was a good-looking car and the Ertl replica does a fine job showing that.

I have a couple of the 61s. They are well done.

The '61 is the best looking Poncho of its decade...neck and neck with the '63 GP.

Ertl did a fine job with these great-looking and well-performing V-8 Pontiacs. Smile

@jack-dodds Jack, you said it all. Those eight lug wheels are some of the best looking wheels ever to be put on a car IMO.

I agree; those wheels are sensational!  Like the GM Rally rims, you never tire of seeing them.

This one's a winner for Pontiac as either a 1:1 or 1/18 replica from the wheels up !

Autoworld's re-release did away with those silly rear, non-stock whitewall slicks; the model looks much better with 4 matching tires.... this gray color is pretty cool too. 😎

Actually, the supposedly "silly" rear tires don't bother me in the least. Also,  the apparently "non-stock" tire option can be a matter of opinion, so, ... oh well.

I've always loved the '61 Impala however the '61 Pontiac puts the Impala to shame, at least IMO.

HA! Good question.... LoL

Actually, all versions of Ertl's/Autoworld's 1/18 1961 Pontiacs have trunks that open (I own all versions ).  I didn't have to do anything. 😏 😀   I have considered, especially on this gray release, doing away with those "dog-legs"  and fabricating aspect door hinges.  The bones  of this model are very good, but it's oversimplified in many areas.

It's such a good looking car; it deserves better detail.
