This is the '65 Pontiac GTO as done by Maisto in black as a coupe and lilac/purple as a convertible. They did a very nice job with this beauty at a typically low Maisto price and even lower when obtained at Sam's Club.

Nice pics Mike. I've always appreciated the fact this this model is in scale AND everything opens.... but things get a bit goofy.  It's a VERY strange trunk opening AND tooling for Maisto (black)  AND Sunstar (blue)  are identical. I'm not sure just who created this model first?  But I like the Sunstar's  better only because their roof is part of the body casting, not a separate piece like Maisto's.

I pretty much remember when that Maisto model came out. It was first released, at least in my memory, in a metallic turquoise color. I remember seeing the 1:1 here at the Garden Grove car show on Main Street and the owner that showed it lived in Anaheim and he was proud because he got the very first model from Maisto because they used his '65 GTO for the model.

It is a very nice color for the convertible ! Maisto did a good job with this one and GTO is such an iconic name plate.
