1966 had some gorgeous cars from Pontiac and several companies have done the sleek Pontiac GTO from that year, including Highway 61. This white one is done really well by Welly and shows off the great lines of that year's mid-sized Pontiac offering.
It sure is a remarkably good-looking and performing automobile and it certainly is understandable why it has been done by a number of manufacturers in different scales and by several manufacturers. Both zamac diecast and styrene plastic have been used and it is the basis for a number of drag and custom cars.
@rich-sufficool I grew up 40 miles south of Knafel Pontiac in Akron Ohio. My late brother and I would visit the dealership now and then because they always had the latest high performance Ponchos in the showroom. We saw this ‘66 in person and I thought it was the most awesome thing I’d ever seen. It even won a couple of trophy’s besides being beautiful. Highway 61 did a very nice 1/18th of it.

"That Arnie Beswick flip-top is one of my favorites."
Without question, among the greatest 1/18 efforts ever tooled! I paid $35 for mine many years ago BUT had it about 10 months BEFORE I realized the entire car comes apart - just like the real deal! 😎 😎 😎
One of my all time favorite cars - loved the look of it when it was introduced - As you may know I collect racing cars almost exclusively so having one of these in my collection is testament to my love for the car
