The HWY61 is very nice except for the way the rear window surround is messed up because the 'vinyl top' texture has been applied and the window surround has been applied OVER it.
At least that's the way my model had it. Hard to believe that highway 61 could make such a mistake everything else about the model is practically perfect.
I still have the B5 blue hemi cuda with no vinyl top I don't know if I'll ever sell that one I love it too much.

I have a few of these but never noticed that. I'll take a look; you got me thinking...... 🤔 🤔 🤨
I always loved that B5 Blue.
Me too !!!
Can't wait to hear your comments.. lol...

Well, I'll be ****! It's been YEARS since I really looked at this particular model Steve.... and, well, you're 100% correct. Mine too has "padded" rear window trim. Glad my Challenger does NOT have a vinyl top! 🙄 😏
It still looks great and doesn't really bother me, especially if I have tor hunt carefully for a reported small error.
@mikedetorrice Oh for sure, this is hardly a deal breaker on a model of this caliber...and considering I've owned this for 15+ years and I'm JUST NOW discovering this... well, that speaks volumes. 😏
Yep, Chris ! Sometimes I think we've all seen people with whom finding an (apparent) mistake is the highlight of their collecting/replica car existence . At least now and then, when I was on staff at the old DCP, there were only occasionally, some people who would apparently crow in exaltation that "they found 2 'mistakes' but someone else only found one" ! Yet, the definition of "error" and "mistake" itself could be highly debatable.
One person "knew' they were correct because they apparently recorded every one of the 93,631 cars that came down the assembly line in 1937. Another person knew he was correct because, "he saw it on the internet". And don't get me started on "photographic proof" ...... maybe .... or maybe not.
It is supposed to be an enjoyable hobby and the "perfect" model will _never_ be built. Plus, people have different ages, finances, personal collecting objectives, etc etc.
@mikedetorrice Well, this HW61 "padded window trim" is clearly an engineering oversight. I suppose no one thought to tool up a rear window trim cover for when the crinkle finish was applied, and, well... we can all see the result. But as I noted, it's a mistake I can live with.

Yes, it could well be true, Chris ! It could also be why they may have been recalled (or known to be an error) and whether they were available (as they were for me ) at $5.00 each for such a Highway 61 car.
Personally, I always considered ANY car to be fair game for a diecast model : production car (whatever that might be); dealer installed; current owner car; etc etc and that I (and my money) would be the final decision maker on whether I buy it it not.
Hey, hey, hey.... I don't purposely look for mistakes I was just pointing that out. I love all my models and I don't look for any mistakes like I said I find very few mistakes anyhow it's just that with highway 61 they're always so precise with everything so I just thought I'd mention it especially because I had that green color with the black vinyl roof.
I hope you didn't take that post with negative comments I'm sorry if you did.
Steve
