As always Mike, the pictures are terrific but the model has several errors. First of all the two tone option was gone for 62 when the bright work trim on the cove surround was removed. Secondly the grills on the 62s were black rather than silver, third there were no cross flags on the coves, fourth the correct whitewall width for 62 was 1 inch and fifth a right side outside mirror was never offered on the straight axel Vettes.
On the plus side, ERTL did an excellent job getting the body proportions right on.
Each picture is both beautiful and unique, #3 with the orange sunset is my favorite.
@bob-jackman Bob, Correct on most points, however there was a cross flag emblem on the '62 cove. It was higher on the flank than shown on this model
Stanton you are correct and I know better. I was thinking of my 61 1/1 instead of the 62. Good catch.

Thanks, Bob. I perhaps swapped the tires on this one, so it's possible the originals were better with the whitewalls. However, I vaguely recall thinking the original wheels looked to have too big of a diameter and I had these laying around. (I remember doing a similar swap on my SunStar '53 Bel Air for the same reason) Perhaps the Ertl '62 and the SunStar '53 Bel Air have each others wheels, LOL !
It's kind of funny that GM signed off on this "50th Vette Celebration" '62 without asking them to tweak a few of the glitches. Hmmm, perhaps GM has a secret, one of a kind 1962 Corvette hidden away somewhere ! (or maybe Ertl and GM knew I would pick up this 1/18 beauty anyway, even with the errors !) The power of diecast model car collecting, LOL !
