Pics? Maybe?

I've been a member here for years, but this is my very first attempt at posting pictures. Please bear with me. Smile So, these are the first few pictures from my '69 Bug project. I started with Minichamps' 1983 VW 1200, which I feel is the most accurate casting of a late model Bug. To replicate my 1/1, I had to make a few modifications- Get rid of the c-shaped vents behind the rear quarter windows, and remove the '73-up "elephant's foot" taillights, fill in and replace with '69 style taillights, which I got from a Revell. I'm also filling in the front bumper mounted turn signals to replace with the front fender mounted ones (also from the Revell), but at this point it's just a bumper with putty there so I didn't take any pictures of that. Anyway, here goes:

RH taillight

I know it's a little too far to the right in these pics. I have fixed it since these were taken. Just like on the 1/1, it's a bear trying to get them even/level on a surface with no template!
