(PICS) Precision Miniatures, Acme, Danbury Mint 1/18 1956 Chrysler St. Regis 2-dr hardtop.

Sadly, when PM closed their doors I figured the odds of ever seeing this 1/18 Chrysler were slim & none. Thankfully I was wrong and here we are. It's finally a reality displayed in, what I believe to be, the BEST color combo out there.

Naturally, it arrived with a few quality issues, such as: chrome scuffs, loose trim, detached interior rear view mirror and glue marks. But it's nothing I can't fix. I will NOT return it.

Just looking at it (without measuring a thing) it does appear a bit small. I will scale it out later just to see.

This 1/18 model does have some very nice detail. The fender mirror, Chrysler script (letters), exhaust tips, grill, lenes, trunk mats, spare (although there's no jack) and the wheelcovers are all VERY well done. Gotta love the opening gas door too!

Overall, a very nice 1/18 replica that has "the look." Suddenly... it's 1956!

I bought this one and absolutely LOVE it. Had to return the first one to DM but the replacement is really perfect. You are right about the color combo - just so right for this car.

I just got the green one. It looks really good in green. It's a great model. It came with zero flaws which I was very happy about. Doors line up perfectly and close flush, no paint issues, chrome has no nub marks and shines beautifully, It looks like a Danbury Mint model only bigger.

I was ready to pull the trigger on that one until I saw this one. I didn't want wire wheels.

Right. I never thought we'd see this. So glad they didn't "break the mold."

I'm waiting for the Nugget Gold/Black convertible, because my 1:1 '55 Windsor is that color.

Christopher, the green Chrysler doesn't have wire wheels, they have wheel covers, just like the pink/black one you have.

Right, I know. My point was I was ready to buy the green one (until the DM version) but didn't....

..want the red/white because of the wire wheels.

I really just love 1950's wheelcovers! Works of art on to themselves!
