To my knowledge, these YM Shine Rodz were never issued in stock versions. Being tooled as customs only makes them kind of rare.Â
Terrific pictures Mike.
Thanks, Bob ! Like Chris mentioned, I don't think YM did these other than very nice hot rod/customs. The 1940 Chevrolet has a chopped top, so would be tricky to modify into a more stock vehicle. The 1939 Chevrolet might be a project but could be more possible to do as a "stock" vehicle. MotorMax have done a nice 1/24 scale 1939 Chevrolet coupe which I have.
@mikedetorrice Mike I have the MotorMax in black which matches a 1/1 I owned about twelve years ago.

Nice, Bob ! They are good-looking cars both diecast and real.
Your first pic reminds me of the "Chicken Race" with James Dean in "Rebel Without a Cause".

I had to dig DEEP into historical film archival footage, enlist the help of interns who are well-versed in 20th century early color film preservation, consult sociology professors familiar with post-war adolescent American vernacular and idiomatic speech such as, "Chicken Race,"  but yeah Rich, you're right. It's a similar image. 😀Â
@chris Awww c'mon, Chris. It's not like you had anything else better to do. LOL
