Polistil 1/16 Scale - 1968 Jaguar E-Type MK2
About 1980, Polistil, earlier called Politoys, of Italy, issued a series of well detailed 1/16 scale models. Going through my storage boxes I came across this one.
This is an early issue as in about 1988, Tonka purchased Polistil and changed the boxes to say Tonka Polistil. It came with a removable convertible top in black.

I had a number of Polistil models, though never this Jaguar, since I had Bburago's Roadster.
I had their Countach, MGA, 930 Turbo Cabrio & Ferrari 288GTO...all sold in the past few years.

Wow! I vaguely remember the Tonka-Poistil issues and being disappointed with them. Despite being so large, not everything opened. I kind of remember being disappointed with their Lamborghini ???? (I think ) 🤔 🤔 🤔 Wow! Haven't seen these in decades!

Very nice find of this Polistil XK Jaguar ! It is great to find one you forgot you had. It looks really good in this British racing green and would be a dramatic car on display in this larger scale.

I also had never heard of the Jaguar but I did have the Ferrari 288 GTO.
And I'm having a hard time remembering what happened to it.Â
