Kind of a "re-post" from about a year ago, but with added pics. 😉 😎
...just some vintage rails I picked up years ago because they were so cool and so cheap (back then - pennies on the dollar ). One of those 1957 Garlits dragsters is a black-chrome bodied "1 of 6 prototype" that GMP never produced.
Equally cool is that all body panels are scale aluminum AND Don Garlits is still with us @ 94 years young!

Talk about looking like 1:1's! love old slingshot dragsters! I have a few in 1:24th, including a Don Garlits A Fueler. But these look so much more realistic. The wheels, zoomies and engine details are extraordinary!

Several years ago I visited the Don Garlits' museum and got to meet the man himself. Quite the gentleman and a wealth of knowledge not only about race cars but cars in general.

@bob-jackman ...cool story Bob! 😎 😎 😎 The closest I ever came was to see the 20th Mercury ever built - a '39 Coupe that was allegedly once owned by Don. The car was in beautiful condition except for a cracked right-side windshield.
