The North American Racing Team 1964 Ferrari 250 LM driven by Fernand Tavano and Bob Grossman was a 9th place finisher that year in the Prototype Sports class. The 250LM had a variety of bodies. I like this body and I thought the roof mounted marine-like red and green I.D. lights were a cool touch. At the time, the only 1/18 model was from Jouef Evolution which did a lot of Le Mans cars in 1/43, 1.24 and 1/18. Oddly, the most detail and parts count was in their smaller scales and the 1/18s were somewhere around Bburago but with better paint. The overall shape is right on, but instead of using more complex dies, they only used a two piece for casting. Ergo, the body was done in 3 separate pieces leaving large seams between the top w/ A pillar, middle and bottom. I like the side exhausts and the aggressive stance of the model and the wire wheels were really well done for the time. I did a bit of paint and foil and most notably, made head lamp bezels. Decades later, BBR has done this car as a curbside. Granted, it has side windows, but it's a curbside model... and it sells for about $500 delivered!!! I'll keep this cheap one, thank you.
@chris I did the 4 coils 2 distributors and 24 ignition wires and metal heat shields on the 330 P4 and the 412 P:
