A quarter of a century ago (1999) I stumbled on these early Exotos and their detail just blew me away... and they were all under $100!!! The Cobra Daytona coupes I thought I'd never see in a model were exciting, but the Corvette Grand Sports just mesmerizing. I had only seen a couple of small grainy B&W pics of them back in the early 60s probably in Car and Driver's racing news section. So here was a set of the most badass C2 I'd ever seen. I emptied my wallet just buying the baddest looking of the bad... concentrating on which one's had the most awesome hood scoops, knowing nothing of the individual cars racing prowess. I even bought this unliveried GS in this Standox paint finish because how cool it looked under the lights. I had been in love this these fastback coupes since my backyard neighbor bought silver split window that I drooled over from my bedroom window. The model is also finished in that Chromillusion Daytona Paradise.

It looks great and Exoto did a really superb job on this racing Corvette. The finish is astounding and the replica would definitely be a knockout in one's display !

Now this I remember and yes, just outstanding paint-work by Exoto. It's very difficult to get this finish to look good regardless of scale (including 1:1 )

By the time I discovered the Exoto GS Corvettes they had reached $150. range and being used to paying $19.99 at TRuS I couldn't pay the cost of Exotos.  Eventally I gave in and have a few. I never got the original GS Corvettes, but i bought the MOTORBOX versions released later.
