An interesting and beautiful car. As a one off, the price is likely to be very high, dependent on the auction house and day. I’ll wait to see.
That is fantastic looking. I've read about that a few times over the years, most recently in an old Motor Trend Classic.
@david-green I'm surprised it's a notch-back.
It's a real beauty ! If it was 1/18th the size it reminds me a bit of my 1968 Greenlight California Special notchback Mustang. It any event, this real Mustang is gorgeous.
My guess is $1,575,000.

When / where is it for auction ?
@100ford2003 Mecum Auction, Harrisburg, PA. July 26-29
$2.5 million-PLUS all day long! I can easily see 3-4 million as a final bid; I doubt it could hit 5 million.
I've no idea what it should or will sell for, but do know that it will likely be way out of my pocket-book capacity. It's a beautiful car though. The only draw back for me is the tan interior. I've never been a fan of that color interior on any car. To my eyes, it cheapens the otherwise richness of a car.

@georgeschire Whew! You are tuff on ol'Carroll. That green & tan look great together...and it's kind of the quintessential European livery. Considering Shelby's racing experience abroad it all makes sense.
I'm no Mustang/Shelby expert (my best friend is ) but based on prior Shelby winning bids and offers (for vehicles that didn't sell ) my auction estimates are sound. I'll be shocked if this goes beyond 5 million.

Two things.
1) I'm not being tough on Carroll Shelby. I just don't like tan interiors on ANY car. I realize it was popular in many cars and that many like it, I'm just not one of them.
2) With regard to the final auction price, for my thinking if it sells for any amount over $100K, somebody's got way too much money! There is not a car out there past or present that I would ever pay over $100K for. Period. But hey, that's just me.

Hi George,
So what are your 'ok' interior / exterior color combos ?

I wasn't aware that my not personally caring for tan interiors on cars was such a big deal. We're all different with different tastes. Cars over the last century plus have come in multitudes of exterior and interior colors, and some appeal to folks and some don't. I've never felt that a tan interior on a car is appealing and I don't think it blends well with any exterior color of a car.
The other color interior that I dislike even more than tan is white. I'm not even a little bit a fan of white on the outside or inside of a car. I've mentioned this previously on other threads here on the Forum, that for me, white is a color that is void of all personality and very bland. But hey man, that's just me. I've heard statistics that white is the most popular color on cars. Again, that's just me. As for the interior colors I do like, I highly prefer dark grays or blacks on all the newer cars, It gives them a feel of richness and warmth.
For exterior colors, I DON'T like black or gray, but would take those colors over any lighter color anytime. I'm not a dark green or dark blue exterior guy either. I've always liked reds and maroons on exteriors and they are okay for interiors too.
Now again all this shared, these are just my preferences, and for those that prefer tan or white, that is theirs. Our differences is what makes the world go around.
