They all look great, especially the '56 & 1st '57. Were these made by you? I am not up-to-date on 1:18 models, but I'm not sure I've seen these before.

@jcarnutz Thanks John. The '55 is a true "kit-bash"  that I need to complete (one day 🙄)  The '56 was a complete fab/mod 34-part tutorial project featured on this very forum over 10 years ago. The yellow/black '57 is pure stock HW 61 and the all black '57 was never released; I had to "kit-bash"  and pirate parts from other models to achieve this all-black "poverty look."

The Ertl 1955 looks just like the actual 1955 Chevrolet my Dad owned. I think it was coral over grey. I happily have two Ertl 1955 Bel Airs (a coral hardtop and a dark grey convertible), a red/cream Maisto 1955 Nomad, a PM two tone green 1956 Chevy and a couple of different H61 '57 Chevrolets, a basic red sleeper and a Bel Air post car. The real cars and all the models are sweethearts and great to have in a 1/18 collection.

Coral & Gray is my favorite tu-tone  combo that year, but that's NOT an Ertl. Mine is a 2-dr sedan, all Ertls were hardtops. As I noted, this is a 1/18 project I started over 15 years ago.....  I hope to finish one day, but just "hoping"  won't get it done. 🙄 🙄 😒 😒

You said the tribute to your Mom '56 was done over 10 years ago?  Indeed!  We did those simultaneous projects beginning in 2009.  It would be great if you posted the entire build project here.  The amount of work and effort you devoted to that car was just phenomenal.

Thanks for the compliments, Marty. Of course I remember our "dual projects."

I'm afraid the entirety of that project (with its scale background in-progress pics, explanations, etc.. ) has been "lost to history."  Over 90% of the pics posted were via a now long-defunct Photobucket account.

I didn't care much because the entire project could always be referenced online through this very forum. But now that viewing "post history" is no longer available I have very few 14-year-old project pics I can share.

John K. did mention that perhaps "post history"  could, one day, be restored. Hopefully that's true.

Sadly, many (far too many..) of my most ardent supporters of this project-replicating in 1/18 scale my mother's first car -are no longer with us. Equally sad, I suppose, is that my mother, who passed in 2002, never got to see it either...but I like to think that maybe she did.

Without a doubt, your '56 Chevy tribute car to your Mom was a Herculean effort.  I vividly recall the ton of really clever and imaginative fabrication of parts on this project.  And the oil dipstick, with oil in the pan, was an over-the-top level of detail.

I used to have a lot of links to this project, along with your first transporter trailer and the Ford cab tractor truck.  Unfortunately, like you, they have been lost to history.  The best hope is that the current owners of "The Zone" enable us to recall the "Post history" function we once had.  I fear that with so many of us transitioning that there is little interest and, consequently, no budget to recall those old posts from years or decades ago.    🙄
