The XP-830 or Mako Shark ll was shown in 1965 and was to be the precursor yo the 1968 C3. I had the new MklV 427 engine that would be  Corvette option in 1967 when the actual C3 was to be introduced. It was constantly redesigned for aerodynamic (lift) and visibility shortcomings. Finally, in 1969, the running version of the Mako Sharkll was converted to the Manta Ray.

This gorgeous model was by UT, a division of AUTOart.

I remember seeing the Mako Shark at the Chicago Auto Show, then building the MPC kit with trailer(!) and using waaaaay too much metallic paint on it. Hey, I was 10. Regret missing out on the AutoArt.
