The second gen Charger; the second gen Corvette and this car.... the second generation Chevelle. All have clean, crisp and simple lines. With the Charger and the Chevelle, the next generation just looks soft and bloated. At least that's my opinion. Here's my favorite generation Chevelle. This is a 1969... with a touch of Yenko Magic.
The '69 Chevelle SS and the '68 Charger R/T are my favorites of those marques.
I have that same car in Gold, it is a nice display piece, I do miss GMP and Lane Exact Detail because they would have taken this car to the next level with their attention to detail and the parts they used on their cars.
Here is my Gold ACME 1969 Yenko Chevelle with a 1970 Orange Oldsmobile 442 W-30 package by GMP and a 1970 Orbit Orange Pontiac GTO The Judge by Lane Exact Detail.
Both GMP and LANE use chrome trim pieces where ACME uses silver paint in the same areas, both the Lane Oldsmobile and GMP Pontiac have a working suspension as well. You don't see it in this Photo but there is also a Highway 61 1970 Red Hemi Cuda with shaker hood next to the Pontiac, Highway 61 uses actual chrome trim pieces as well but do not have the working suspension.
I know ACME now has the rights to these companies so I hope at some point they bring back the incredible detail GMP and Lane Exact Detail used to have, ACME seems to have most of the original Highway 61 detail in their versions so I know they can do it.
I notice your Chevelle has the same issue with the hood as mine does, the left front edge sticks up just a hair while the right side sits flush, I thought maybe mine was just an assembly issue but now that I have seen others I think it is the castings that are not allowing the hood to sit flush on the left side.
this is an awesome model and appreciate you sharing.
A great looking model ! I happen to like all the versions of both the Chevelle and the Charger, so any models of these cars are fine with me.
