VIDEO - '59 Dodge Custom Royal Convertible...
I think the model looks pretty darn good. Much better than the early photos we saw. I couldn't help but notice the front license plate has month and year registration tags but I seriously doubt that small detail would be a deal breaker for anyone.

Marlowe you're right! It does look much better AND Sun Star has "better-ed" their chrome foils!

I had just watched that video before you
posted it- I'd done a Google search for
"1:18 1959 Dodge" and I agree: The car
is amazing!
I knew the production model would have
many of those obvious flaws corrected!
I just had a feeling.
Now, since I have only room for ONE more
1:18 car - I have to decide on whether
or not to buy this beautiful offering in
red and white - or wait for a hardtop or
top UP version.
I already have WAY too many dark cars in my
collection, and, though I never cared overmuch
for convertibles WITHOUT a top up option,
I can't deny that this car is a fantastically
made and totally gorgeous 1:18 replica!
I have wanted a 1:18 1959 Dodge for at least
14 years now - and before that, when I was still
building 1:24 scale plastic car models -I wanted
it in 1:24 scale since 1987!
That's a LONG wait!

The whole series of 1959 Dodges we will get over time from SunStar I am confident will be a fine addition to many collections. The subject matter chosen in the Platinum Series has always been top-notch.

Does anybody know what colour-combos will come in the near future? It is a very nice model and I can't wait to place it besides the 1957 Chrysler 300, but I have a lot of red cars. It would be nice to see something new.
