I don't recal ever seeing the HoJo truck but I sure do like it.

well then c`mon Bob !!....you can take the spot right behind the rampaging Hun....I know from experience,he aint got any more than 4 drachmas to his name 🤨
A fine display of this Yat Ming/Road Legends ice cream truck. It looks great and I recall they also did a regular version of their 1948 Ford pick up/

Thanks Mike......I actually bought this piece to give Monty Burns an opportunity to make a little pin money 😐 ......I have just 5 or 6 pieces in this scale......I`d like to get a look at that `48 Ford
That "Yat-minger-Ho-Jo '48" was released long ago, probably the first 1/18 ice-cream truck.... I quickly "scooped" one up! 😏 😏 I never found an exact 1:1 match for that body-style being utilized by "Ho-Jo" but the colors are certainly correct.
@john-barry Right! That's an even older release but still a very decent (and heavy) pick-up model. I'd guess most 1/18 collectors have at least one of these.
.....and yes, "cab-covered pick-up style Ho-Jos" 1:1 vintage pics are plentiful but I don't recall ever seeing a 1:1 Yat-ming body style in a Ho-Jo livery but I have seen it as a Good Humor.
@chris.......... I see..........maybe we go have an ice cream.and then another ice cream.and on and on until they toss us out the door
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,so much Good Humor / so little Howard Johnson`s,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I'm really baffled by this HoJo ice cream truck. Although there were plenty of Howard Johnson restaurants iin the '50s and '60s in New Jersey (I can still taste their fried clams), I never remember an ice cream truck making the rounds. Good Humor and Mr. Softy are all that come to mind.
well Rich.......the photo I posted above was taken from 1952`s "Walk East on Beacon!"........a movie in which "A G-man searches for a communist sleeper-cell in Boston."........do you suppose the HJ ice cream truck could have been a fabricated listening post for the feds .....perhaps in an effort to capture communist children ?...........or maybe just a convenient street-level base from which to phone in to headquarters whenever they gleaned commie activity?.......and just WHO was the "blonde with a peculiar walk" ?
@rich-sufficool Howard Johnson Ice cream trucks existed (plenty of pictures).... my point was that I can't substantiate their trucks ever looked like this particular 1/18 1948 Ford. All photos I find, depict Ford trucks with full roofs. 🤔 🤔 🤔
