Alfa Romeo's Autodelta SpA built this long tail T33/2 variant for greater top end on the Mulsanne Straight keeping the little 2.0 liter V8 to cut costs. Adding those cute little shark fins for stability, it managed 187 mph. For homologation, 28 of this type were built in both street (Stradale) and race form. It was a winner in its 2.0 liter class but could not compete with the larger displacement of the GT40s overall. In the 1968 Le Mans competition, it did manage to place 4, 5 and 6 overall beating the Porsche 910s and the Dino 206S.

Impressive HP from a 2.0 liter. Are both these models in 1/18 scale?
Beautiful Rich. Thanks for sharing this highly successful but often overlooked race car. Nice story and photo essay.
@chris It's 1/18 scale. "Both" models?
Always liked this model and remember being impressed by its success on the track. It's a shame we could only get these as sealed models but half a loaf is better than none and Spark did a nice job modeling this car.
