The 1952 to 1953 Ferrari 500 F2, powered by the Lampredi designed 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder engine that managed a whopping 185 hp. That was all that was needed for Alberto Ascari to dominate every race during the two years of production. Although, the generations to come would have the more familiar Colombo V12 that defined at least 2 decades of racing success, this little bugger was the beginning of Ferrari's long reign in European racing. This particular Exoto model of the short nose F2 was driven by Giuseppe "Nino" Farina that was awarded the pole position in the 1953 Swiss Grand Prix ( and then a DNF). A pic or two were taken with Fangio's Alfa Romeo Alfetta 159M which is a Revival diecast and mixed media kit build as Exoto model was too damned expensive.

Magnificent! I have a few of the Revival kits. They were great value for the money. Two models here that belong in any Formula1 collection.
