From the 1940s on, the Batmobile designs almost differed from issue to issue. Some could be really nailed down like the 1950's Batmobile the had the design schematics and specs right on the front. When George Barris built the Batmobile from the 1955 Lincoln Futura, he had less than a month to turn a rusting wreck into his iconic rendition. It turned out to be similar to the Batmobiles of the mid 1960s. DM, like FM, ran into a very expensive brick wall when 4 different entities demanded confiscatory licensing fees to model the Barris car. DM did this comic book version and Johnny Lightning produced a really cool diecast kit which I built, painted and added Barris-like red pinstriping and kitbashed figures for a similar plastic kit.
