These two beautiful well done models are from 1320......another great model crafter that is no longer with us.
Does anyone here know why the company was named 1320?...........I do, but I'll let you tell me.
Most 1320 models were Chrysler Hemi powered, mimicking the real life drag scene in the mid 1960's through the 1970's and beyond, so what makes these 2 models so rare is they are powered by the very exotic Ford 427 SOHC....a hemi powered Ford ultra high performance engine.
The Ford 427 SOHC was called the cammer due its very exotic overhead cam setup, with the timing chain measuring about 7 feet long....see pics below.
And the rarity of these 1320 427 SOHC models are evident in the secondary market place like ebay......they usually sell for 3 times more than the Chrysler Hemi models.
I have about 20 1320 models, and half of them are rail dragsters like these pictured and half are funny cars, and all of them are done extremely well.

The picture on the left shows the 7 foot timing chain
The picture on the right shows the creative work of Pete Robinson, producing a gear drive system to do away with the troublesome timing chain.
These are simply fabulous. I remember watching drag race meets on T.V. as a kid and being utterly enthralled by the whole spectacle: the noses flying into the air, the parachutes and the fumes! Please post more as and when you've time.
