I've been watching an Australian TV drama series "The Doctor Blake Mysteries" that's set in a small Australian town in the 1950s. It's kinda neat to see all the vintage automobiles of that era, including sedans, Utes, police, fire and emergency vehicles. Of course, the Holden variants dominate the sets. I still love this 1953 Holden FJ Special sedan model by Top Gear / Trax that was first released in 2000. It's very nicely done and very similar to level of what the Mints were producing then. It's kinda quaint and lovable.

Excellent. I have this one and the two tone green. Wish I had picked up the taxi version too. They are great models.

You have excellent choice in your television program selection sir! I have yours, and actually have this one on the way too. Its the 'luxury version'.
DDA have taken over Trax's toolings and are producing the models again in new colors at very competitive prices. Many listed on the Australian ebay.

My Grandfather drove a grey FX model and two of my uncle's drove FJ's, I remember those vehicles well.. I have a number of the Trax variants
