This 1911 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost 40/50 HP "Roi Des Belge" Touring Car offers a change from the earlier 'horseless carriage' design with the cabin sitting on the frame right over the axles, lowering the center of gravity increasing both ride comfort and performance handling. Named after King Leopold ll of Belgium, with luxe coachwork by Barker & Co of London (1710 to 1938) and is considered a masterpiece of Brass Era automobiles.
This gorgeous model is by Franklin Mint. I love the embossed "RR" logo on the leather door card and the cloth soft top..
Another RR on my list. My only hesitation is the way FM did the spoke wheels on some of their models, like this one. Thanks for the pics, RC.
+1!Have it, love it. Pure elegance.
Had the model for years and once again your pics pick up something I hadn't noticed, this time the embossing on the door pad. Great story and pics as always thanks Rich
