This 1931 Ford Deluxe Roadster cost $475 and for that, you got dual fender mounted spares and a really cool rumble seat for your mother-in-law which at speed would negate her incessant back seat driving. The 40 HP 200 cid flat 4 could propel you to about 65 mph. Designated the Model 40(D), a whopping 52,997 were produced. Not too shabby for a Depression year. I'm assuming there are still plenty around as this multiple award winning roadster, virtually identical to this DM model, only sold for $39,200.
Rich great pictures. I have this car, it was one of the first when I started collecting.
Rich, I'm thinking you just slipped calling the engine a flat six when you know better that it's a four. Great model and pictures.
great old model. Loved how DM maximised the tooling with so many other releases. Thanks Rich.
