Here's a very early release from DM. Originally issued in 1993 and it has been a part of my collection since early 1994, 30 years now. Despite the little concerns with this model, it is still one of my favorite models. On my example, the doors don't fit quite right and have some gaps. I always meant to find a better one, still could someday.

Earlier than I collect except for rods, but I still appreciate it. 💯

John, When I saw this in Parade magazine, I sent in the order form so fast.  The 40 Ford is one of my Favorites and with it being in Red, was a must have.  Thanks for sharing the photos.  I appreciate all who take great shots of the models and I save them to the computer and print out a few to put with the car information which I keep stored.

Another who has had this model for a very long time. I also have the green version which looks more period correct IMO.

The '40 Fords have always been works of art to my eyes.  Whenever I see one at a car show, I stop and I stare  at it for a long tine.  I have this RED one and also the GREEN version.  Both are standouts!  I also have the BLACK '39 which is very similar to the '40.  They are forever classics!

it's one I missed out on. Perhaps I should go out on the hunt.
