This is the 1st of FMs '55 Pontiac models and even as great as the rest were, this is still the best one and my favorite. Issued in 1996 and it joined my collection the same year. 1955 Pontiac Star Chief Custom Catalina Hardtop Coupe - in Turquoise Blue & White Mist

1955 Pontiac Star Chief Catalina 02
1955 Pontiac Star Chief Catalina 01
1955 Pontiac Star Chief Catalina 04
1955 Pontiac Star Chief Catalina 05
1955 Pontiac Star Chief Catalina 06
1955 Pontiac Star Chief Catalina 07
1955 Pontiac Star Chief Catalina 09
1955 Pontiac Star Chief Catalina 10

and here's one with a completely different attitude...

1955 Pontiac SC Catalina BF 01

Agreed John, it's one of FM's best.  I actually have two of them, but only because the original issue of the car from FM had "thin" white-wall tires on it.  This always bothered me because technically, "thin" white-walls were NOT period correct for the car.  It always bothered me that FM had made this (what I consider to be a) critical error.  Then a few years later, I was able to get another one, but now with the "wide" white-wall tires as they should be.  I've never been sure if FM issued the "thin" version first by mistake, or if they originally did it correctly with the "wide" version and then re-issued it incorrectly.

FM did a great job on this model; my fave Pontiac of the 50s.

@perrone1 Love the model and the pictures of the clean version. The rusty version gives me heart burn.

My dear cousin had a '55 Pontiac that looked much like the weathered example pictured...did I say he lives in Buffalo?

Saly may be a good flavor enhancer for food but it's death on an automobile.
