OK I'm going to get really picky here guys, throw something at me if u want. When the model was introduced I felt DM had for some reason enlarged the grill, compared to the turquoise version that I have, and even the 1:1. Check the number of grill 'bars' on the side between the top fender bar and the bumper. The turquoise version has 2, the 1:1 2 and a half and the later DM burgundy version, 4. Hoping its ok to use your pic John.

No problem with the photo - I seem to recall there was some discussion about this concern way back in the day. I didn't add any of it to my database, so I don't recall the facts. Maybe someone else does.
Geoff/John, yes, I recall the discussions. There's no doubt whatsoever, that their 58 New Yorker grille is wildly enlarged. There was some inside talk of doing a 'running change' to the model but I do not remember if one was ever done.
Well, no matter to me- it is still one of my favorite models - I never noticed the grill size until it was pointed out. This model sat on my desk at my old house in its own case for nearly 3 years. It's the only 1/24 scale model that ever spent that long - up to its arrival, it was usually about 30 days or so.

Clearly the model is not in the best of condition but to me it does show a smaller grill
YOU DA MAN Geoff! So apparently they DID do a running change on the model. They usually did not advertise such unless it were a model that wasn't selling because of the incorrectness of the piece. When we learned of such a change with an FM product, we labeled it as revised and the date, on the Car Lists.
