1955 Pontiac Star Chief Custom Catalina Hardtop - Franklin Mint
and here's one that's seen better days...

Love it John! I have both the "correct" white-wall version and the "incorrect" white-wall version. I never understood why (or rather how) Franklin Mint got it wrong in the first place. My only guess was always that they didn't do their homework. As for your "one that's seen better days" version, it's pretty cool how you made her a mess. Great photos as always!

Really good model done in the 90's, my only small complaint was Pontiac put in those fender top "scoops" and Franklin just put a bump there with a tiny color strip.
Here's mine after switching hubcaps and removing those skirts...

I too, like the changes David made on his model. My biggest issue was when FM originally released the model, it had those "thin whitewalls" on it. Drove me nuts, because to be "period correct", it would have been impossible to have "thin whitewalls" on the real car, as they weren't available until 1962. However, the rest of the car was so near perfect, I didn't let the incorrect "whites" detour me from adding it to my collection. Then when a CORRECTED version was released, the (my) world was in sync again.

I have this one as well; it was one of FM's better efforts IMO. I sure hope Goldvarg do this car in 1:43.
