Celebrating the Cadillac of the 50s!
Starting in the late 40s the fin began to rise from the fender with a taillight bump and by 1959 they had grown into a full-blown towering sculpture. Fortunately, in the model car world this design style was well captured in miniature, and I did my part to promote them in a photo set a few years ago that highlighted this amazing feature. Now I know other manufacturers had their version of the tailfin, some were even more dramatic, but for me, the Cadillac started this style, and its conclusion was he most polarizing.
My thoughts in this photoset was to show how Cadillac's style looked in the 40s, prior to the fin. That was captured nicely by DMs 1941 Fleetwood Sixty Special, to move the style along (and keeping everything in black) I showcased the '49 Series 62 from NEO, FMs 1955 Fleetwood Sixty Special and finishing with DMs '59 Eldorado Seville.

They're all great looking Cadillacs. Which one did Don Corleone ride in today ?
I love these mobbed up surveillance shots John
Four Black Beauties without debate. I've kicked myself a few times, because I had that '59 and sent it back to DM because of a broken front wheel. I chose at the time to NOT have them send a replacement. And the FM '55 escaped me too. Ironically I was working for kicks and giggles at the FM store at the Mall of America at the time it was out, and I didn't pull the trigger on getting one was because we'd had a few returned for quality issues. But in hindsight (which is always 20/20) I should have added both to my collection. The other two in your great pics, I have and love.

Great shots. I sold my 55 FM forever ago because of rash. I wanted the green version but never pulled the trigger.
