I discovered Precision Scale 1:24 models back in 1990, my 1st was the FM '63 Corvette in Riverside Red. It was a couple more years later that I discovered the Danbury Mint. One of the 1st models I added through the Preview Society was the '55 Fairlane in Black/White. It was an amazing model, more detail than I had ever seen in a model. The 1st Fairlane in my collection was that one from DM, I soon followed it up with a 2nd one issued by FM. It is came dressed in Tropical Rose & Snowshoe White. Sweet colors. Chevrolet may have had the eyes of the auto buyers in 1955 with the "all-new" Bel Air, but for me the Fairlane has a better-looking design, one that always catches my eye.

GREAT photos John! I have always loved that car. My older brother, Fran, God rest his soul, bought that exact car, exact color, in 1955. His first brand new vehicle!
Very nice model. I agree with you that the 1955 Fairlane had a nicer design than the 1955 Bel Air.

This was the third or fourth model I purchased from the Franklin Mint Gallery back in 1995. The colors caught my eye, as well as the transparent roof. Lovely model and photos John.
With all of the Crown Victorias we received from FM and DM, I wish we had gotten a 56. The DM Victoria is a favorite of mine since I had a 1/1 in 1960.
I love all of the FM and DM Crown Victoria's! The first one I bought was the DM black/white '55. Oddly, my favorite one is FM's yellow/black version. All are great though and I wouldn't part with any of them. Oh, and like Mr. Jackman mentioned above, I do wish that one of the mints would have given us a '56 too.
