Another old classic from FM. Now I really love this style on the 1:1, both from Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Unfortunately, despite the awesome color, this model falls a little short. The door gaps themselves are outrageous. It's excellent that a 4-door model was offered because there are very few. Having all 4-doors open is excellent as well, even if the back doors don't open very far. Those 1:24 scale people have got to be "really" skinny to fit inside, LOL! The model has great details and despite the old tech, makes for a strong presence.
Despite that, I am thrilled to have this model, as well as the Rolls-Royce counterpart. They represent complete class and opulence that American manufacturers had not yet achieved. So, let's take a moment and have a look.
1955 Bentley S1 Saloon, issued by FM in 1997 and joined my collection in 1998. The model is presented in Silversand & Dark Cherry Maroon.

Great photos! I love the color combination on this model. But my problem is that for a 1955 car, it looks 20 years old. There is absolutely nothing modern about it at all. That would be a major reason in 1955 I'd have zero interest in owning.

I love the beautiful body style. Does anyone else here remember the TV series 'Burke's Law' ?
That's the first time I ever laid eyes on a beautiful car like that and I thought it was absolutely gorgeous. I'm not sure if it was a Rolls or a Bentley.

I have FMs blue version. Real nice.
What a great old series Burkes Law was hey Steve....."The millionaire captain of the LAPD homicide division is driven to the crime scenes in his 1962 Rolls-Royce by his loyal chauffeur." What a concept!

A perfect color combo!
I remember Burke's Law. A good show, once I got past watching Bat Masterson in a suit and driving around in cars instead of on horseback!
Excellent review of this model John. Your comments are all right on.
