As the month of May draws to a close, summertime is right around the corner. This model has always been a favorite of mine from FM, even with the appendage.

1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop Sport Coupe - Franklin Mint in Gypsy Red & India Ivory

1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Hdtp 01
1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Hdtp 02
1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Hdtp 07
1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Hdtp 08

FM also issued the same colors in a convertible version

1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Conv 03
1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Conv 02
1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Conv 09
1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Conv 10

55 is my favorite year for the tri series Chevy's.  I have both of these and love them.  Thanks for the photos.

Of the Tri-Fives, I always gravitated to the '55 and '56 before I did the '57; the '56 being my favorite. This is a great example of a '55 from back in the day! terrific shots John!

I LOVE the tri-five Chevrolets but IMHO the "appendage" completely ruins the look.  I just cannot warm up to this feature....never could.

Love both!

I would prefer it without the continental kit...but why beat a dead horse.

If I recall correctly, the hardtop was going for "big bucks" and then FM re-issued it which caused the value of the original issue to drop.

I have the convertible which was an early acquisition to my collection.

Great pics of course.
