By 1953, Buick had the last remaining wood-bodied station wagon, convenience and versatility and overall build expense probably led most manufactures to switch to all-steel bodied station wagons. Many of these wagons featured "simulated wood" panels & trim for the "same look" as the previous wood-bodied examples.

DMs last two "Woody" wagons were these two by Buick, and they are very special indeed. The Buick Roadmaster was the top of the line for Buick in 1953. Included in their lineup was the Estate Wagon, which DM has modeled perfectly.

DM's 1st release of this wonderful model came decked out in Terrace Green and was issued in 2006. On this version DM issued the model with wire wheels like their Skylark convertibles. On the 2nd release, issued in 2009, the model takes on a more formal appearance in Imperial Blue and Roadmaster full-wheel covers.

With either, or both, these models are a great addition to anyone's "Woody" collection.

Love them both.  My choice would be the blue version with the wires.

If I were to create a ranking of my favorite DM models, I'd have these two Buick wagons very close to the top.  Have both and love both.  What I especially like is that aside from color difference, the hubcaps are too.

Have both, love both. Great pictures John. Been waiting for about two years for Sergio to release an announced 1/43 scale version. Can never have enough station wagons regardless of scale.
