Well. I was 12-13 when I last made one of these, 60 odd years ago! I retired last July and over the last few years I’ve bought a handful of older 1/24, 1/25 kits to have a go at during retirement. Started this first one about 2 weeks ago. Lot of little stuff ups along the way, don’t use nail polish remover on plastic, couldn’t find spots for a couple of undercarriage parts, cannot now fit the interior rearview mirror.  Although I reckon I could have if I had have tried before fitting the windscreen, but I followed the instructions assiduously. Major problem is glue on the windscreen, that’s a bad one. I also purposely did not fit the skirts, they very strangely have the “hubcaps” on the outside. Overall its OK. I’ll try and learn from my mistakes. Next up I’ll try some painting too, although not minute detail. I’ve really enjoyed making it so I’ll keep going. I’ll stick with cars from brass era to 1970s. Any thoughts and suggestions appreciated.

Looks great Geoff. I still have a few of these kits unbuilt and your example suggests I should try again. I still have my open 540K in white from my youth. Nice to see these again. Thanks Geoff!

WOW... that's a Monogram model I've never seen before. Almost all the European prewar car models I've run into are Hellers. Nice project and nice work.
