Whether your local bank president used it to commute and impress, or your local funeral director bought one to ferry the bereaved to and from the gravesite, the regal black 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 60 Special sedan was the height of luxury and status in the day. This 4720 lb luxury sedan was built on their longest (133") wheelbase chassis and was powered by a 250 HP 331 cid V8. It could be had with power everything that maxed out at $4500. This package included their signature dash mounted "Autronic Eye" which automatically dimmed the headlights for oncoming traffic. This black model by Franklin Mint was a reissue as a numbered LE of 3000, and, in my eyes, the perfect color.
A beautiful Cadillac, especially in black.
Ahh, The Godfather Caddy. I do have this and the Elvis version. Love that color combo Pete.🤑
@rich-sufficool Looks good! Must have been a popular color combination back then.
