I really liked the 1956 Lincoln. Its design was now significantly different from Mercury. It looked much longer and the lines linear resisting the temptation to raise up the tail fins. It didn't have the over the top 'land yacht features of its contemporaries. The following year was similar but now the rear quarter and fins went the way of Chrysler's "Forward Look" before going full on land yacht from '58 to '60. It wasn't until the 1961 model year that I really liked Lincolns again.

My favorite Lincoln of the 1950s without a doubt.  Conservative but elegant styling.
