1954 egan the 2nd generation El Dorado. To cut costs and increase sales, the El Dorado now shared the same basic body as the other and was separated by trim, accessories, a script on the trunk deck and a golden crest behind the rear fender break. Sold only as convertibles, the 2150 that were sold had a base price of $5738 ( about $65K in today's dollars). For power, you got the 215 HP 331 V8, but it was coupled to a 4 speed automatic which enhanced both performance and fuel mileage. This is arguably DM's best Cadillac model, with a great parts count and superior finish. The cloth top has a wonderful scaled texture and the brightwork finely executed with the proper finish. The gold-toned photoetched scripts and cast badgings are superbly replicated. The driver's side tail lamp assembly flips up to reveal the gas cap.
One beautiful Cadillac. I love the yellow. Great shots Rich!

+1 I agree!
It's gonna be a bright, bright sunshiny day. Wow, what a beauty. DM at its finest.

Ya know Geno.....somebody should compose a song about that!
For that matter this Caddy could quite rightly be called "Mellow Yellow".
