1955 (FM) and 1956 (DM) were the last two years when Packards were Packards and not rebranded Studebakers with bad nose jobs.

Wonderful pics.  I have the '55 in Rose Quartz plus both DM '56 versions.  The last of the real Packards before becoming Packardbakers.

THANK YOU RICH for this nice side-by-side look at the last TRUE Packard's.  I have both in my collection, as well as the two repaints of the '55.  In style and appearance I've always felt they were right up there with Cadillac and Lincoln of the same years, especially the '56.

Great photos!

I love what are called the "Cathedral" taillights on these cars.

Additionally, if I might add a slightly diverse perspective on the two cars, DM's convertible vs FM's convertible.

@perrone1 The FM '55 is much older tech with dog leg hinges and other features but it still holds up pretty well. When you get down to the minutia, the DM '56 is a much superior replica.

I agree the DM version from a modeling perspective it’s superior BUT I personally like the ‘55 front end better.  I think the finer mesh looks better. The bolder 56 boxes to me don’t really look right
