The iconic Stone, Woods & Cook (AKA: "Cookie") 1941 Willys "Swindler". This one is beautifully finished in jet black. Fred Stone, Lenard Woods Jr and Doug Cook began using this body in 1961, winning in both A and B Gas Supercharged Class with their string of Willys body "Swindlers" beginning at a time where you built what you run with no major sponsorships so you either won or go broke. These gassers were predecessors to the funny cars that dominated the strips. They were the first to break 10 seconds and later 9s at 150 mph. Ironically in 1960, it was K S Pittman who talked Doug Woods into taking out his Oldsmobile race engine and transplant it into a '41 Willys, and from then on, they were competitors at the track.
This is another Motor City USA white metal curbside from their line up of 1/24 vintage gassers.
MCUSA did a whole series of gassers which I have pics of from a friend's collection. Here's one more SW&C Swindler. If you're interested in seeing the line up of other gassers, let me know.

I wonder how many stock cars remain. Seems like they pretty much all got turned into gassers or otherwise modified.
